Harmony/Overview:
The harmony of this composition is very functional and remains almost entirely diatonic. The changes revolve around II - V's that meander around the home key, and do not stray any further than a II - V of III. The melody is made up of a bop-oriented line and it uses two distinct motifs for both the A and B sections. It is common to play a stop on the first beat of the 8th bar in the A sections during the head, as heard on the original recording from Cornbread.
